After returning to his childhood home, a disgraced children's puppeteer is forced to confront his wicked stepfather and the secrets that have tortured his entire life.
Cinematography: 20/20
The Cinematography in Possum is suitably incredibly disturbing and unsettling, some sequences in the film are among the scariest imagery i have ever seen in a horror film. The soundtrack as well, which was produced completely original for this film is incredibly ominous.
Main cast: 16/20
The main cast in Possum for the most part is flawless although sometimes the secondary main character's acting falters at time but it's not that noticeable but it's still an impediment.
Supporting cast: 11/20
The supporting cast consists of basically one character and he is fairly compotent but only appears twice in the film.
Originality: 20/20
No horror film or any film has ever told such a complex and devastating story using symbolism to the absolute extent.
Story: 15/20
Whilst i adore it, the story can be tedious for some, the film doesn't make complete sense until the ending which might i add is brilliant.
Overall: 82/100 (Gold)
I loved this film. It was so different and so symbolic in its presentation, this film is a horror film in a different way than alot of the generic Hollywood films we receive and the horror is extremely subtle. This is by far one of the best films of the year and one of the best symbolic films i have ever seen.
