When an aging and weary Logan meets a young mutant that is like him, he must battle the forces that wish to capture her.

Cinematography: 20/20

Logan's unique color pallet sets it apart from other superhero films excellently with the accompanying soundtrack which contains no upbeat music at all, but rather dour and slow music to accompany the films dark themes.

Main cast: 20/20

Both Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart give outstanding performances as the final portrayals as wolverine and professor X by presenting two broken men in the midst of a terrible situation.

Supporting Cast: 14/20

The supporting cast is mostly excellent as well with a first performance from Dafne Keen who does an amazing job for a first performance. however some of the villains were lacking in comparison.

Originality: 16/20

Logan is mostly completely original for the most part. But there are some genre tropes that are present in the film but only to a minor degree.

Story: 20/20

The story is suitably somber and very dark. however Logan does receive full marks for this category because the film can become so depressing and sad that at times it can be very hard to watch, and for that reason it never once betrays the audience with the tone.

Overall: 90/100 (Gold)

Logan is one of my favorite superhero films. The dark and depressing nature of the film is suitable and refreshing for a film of this nature. The film also serves as a showcase of Hugh Jackman's incredible character development.
