Downfall follows the last days of Hitlers life from the perspective of his secretary. As Hitler's world begins to unravel and hope begins to become lost for the Third Reich we see Hitler descend into madness and into a choice that will ultimately change the course of the war.

Cinematography: 20/20

The cinematography on display in Downfall is astonishing. The literal recreation of Berlin is incredible and exemplifies great professionalism.

Main cast: 20/20

Bruno Granz's performance as Adolf Hitler is one of the greatest performances i have ever seen, he perfectly captures the tyrannical dictator's madness and selfishness in spectacular fashion and it begs the question as to why Ganz didn't win best actor.

Supporting Cast: 18/20

Whilst being overshadowed by Granz's incredible performance the characters of Fegelin and Himmler are played expertly by their respective actors as well as the secretary.

Originality: 19/20

No war film has ever been this personal with a singular figure during that conflict, the film is a very personal experience that you never thought you could have with the subject matter

Story: 20/20

The story is one of the best of all time. Definitely in the top 10 war plots of all time, the execution of such a complicated period of time is incredibly superb and provides an incredible cinematic experience.

Overall: 97/100 (Platinum)

Downfall is in one of my top 50 favorite films. Its small small credits this film to feel very personal and emotional but were this film thrives is its story that is basically flawless.
