BlacKkKlansman follows the true story of Ron Stallworth, the first black police officer in the Colorado police department. With the help of a white officer, they intend to infiltrate the KKK as the supremacist group prepares a sinister attack with malevolent purposes.
Cinematography: 18/20
The cinematography is incredible for the most part in BlacKkKlansman. The film truly captures the time period and prejudice accompanying the 60’s with unique camera work and soundtrack.
Main Cast: 20/20
The main two actors: John David Washington and Adam Driver play their parts abosuletely perfectly in the film. As the film goes along we learn more and more about these characters that make us care for them and we want them to succeed.
Supporting Cast: 13/20
For a majority of the film all of the supporting cast are excellent and match the standard set by the main cast, however some of the Klan members do go a bit over the top in some scenes, but that is just a minor issue.
Originality: 20/20
There have been quite a few films about the KKK, but none have presented in such a way as BlacKkKlansman with the perfect blend of brutal realism and dark comedy.
Story: 18/20
The film’s story perfectly exemplifies the racism and prejudice of the time period whilst providing hope in a dark situation.
Overall: 89/100 (Gold)
BlacKkKlansman is an excellent film, that perfectly exemplfieis its time period in a unique and interesting way.
